This website is dedicated to healthy plant-based recipes and meal plans for the whole family. Plant-based diet or vegan diet are proven to reverse diabetes, prevent from various cancers, improve cardiovascular health and also help with weight management. Eating unprocessed, low in saturated fat and refined sugar, whole foods makes so much sense!
I also cover the topics of feeding our pets with delicious and nutritious homemade food and recommend some appliances that I use to make my life easier. Yes, you do not need to go Paleo, some help of juicers, blenders and food processors will help to create stunning vegan meals.
Many people started to ask me whether health is the main reason I switched to veganism. It is not exactly so. After watching a few documentaries (I will make sure to add links later on), I have been shell-shocked to see how animals are treated, used and killed.
Meat and dairy industries will be so happy to shut this site down because they know how much pollution and waste they generate. In fact, 2500 cows will generate similar amount of waste as a small town of 400K people. If you recycle (good for you!) and take your showers much less, it won’t even compare to the resources that are going to sustain meat and dairy industries! Forests are being destroyed in order to make way for the livestock to graze. Do you know that livestock farming also contributes to the greengas emissions more than the entire transport system (UN report). Again, what about killing hundreds of thousands of innocent animals?
Do you also know that apart from huge waste and pollution, all those farmed animals a fed a lot of foodstuffs to produce meat for us. Scientists have estimated that if we re-direct all these food resources – grains, cereals and water – we can safely feed the entire plant. There won’t be such thing as a world hunger anymore! I will call this a progress, not some expensive techy gadget.
I do not think I would be so motivated to change to a vegan lifestyle for health reasons only, but the enormous suffering of those poor animals is something I’d like to avoid. I am keen on Buddhist values and especially no harming other beings. This includes dogs, cats but also farmed animals too.

My name’s Dimitri and I am passionate about green issues, organic produce, helping animals, taking care of my and my loved ones’ health, nature and environment, being pro-active and enthusiastic with an overall can-do attitude. I write my articles and recipes together with my rescue dog Lucky. He is my inspiration and a companion. He has also started a veggie diet and has never been so active, though he is already 8 years old.

The simplicity of vegan lifestyle is that you only need to eat plant-based wholefoods made with little intervention, so not refined or overly processed. It will make a huge difference to your life, but also to the life of hundreds, thousands of animals who live with us on this planet. Live better and be kind.
